How to get to Agaete?
There are several ways to reach Agaete. If you are travelling by car from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, take the GC-2 and you will arrive in the historic centre in just 35 minutes.
Alternatively, you can travel by public transport by taking bus number 103, which will get you to Agaete in approximately one hour.

Agaete Old town
The best way to begin your visit is by exploring the town’s historic centre. It is a small yet welcoming area, steeped in history, with the Church of La Concepción and its square among its main highlights.
This central square hosts the town’s most important celebration, La Rama de Agaete, which takes place on 4 August.
Likewise, the town as a whole is a collection of whitewashed houses and traditional Canarian balconies that will make your stroll through Agaete even more enjoyable.
Puerto de las Nieves
Just 15 minutes from the town centre lies Puerto de las Nieves, a traditional fishing neighbourhood where you will find its beautiful beach and the Chapel of Las Nieves.
You can stroll along its small yet charming beachfront promenade, which leads to the old harbour. From here, you could once see Agaete’s Dedo de Dios, which was destroyed by a storm, leaving only a “stump” behind.
Agaete Valley
The Agaete Valley is one of the most beautiful and best-known landscapes in Gran Canaria. Everyone who visits this corner of the island and ventures into the valley falls in love with it forever.
One of the Agaete Valley’s greatest attractions is Finca Los Berrazales, known for the valley’s famous coffee plantations and Los Berrazales wines, considered among the finest in the Canary Islands.
Tamadaba Natural Park
Tamadaba Natural Park lies within the municipality of Agaete. To discover new natural landscapes, you can follow the coastal road connecting Agaete with La Aldea de San Nicolás.
If you have an adventurous spirit and want to explore the area’s natural scenery, you can follow the trails around Charco Azul, Guayedra Beach, Faneque or El Risco.
However, if you are feeling more daring and want to enjoy a unique experience, you can take the trail from the Agaete Valley to Tamadaba. Known as the San Pedro route, it takes approximately five hours and involves an ascent of 1,000 metres.
Natural pools
Agaete is home to some of the most famous natural swimming pools on the island.
Las Salinas natural swimming pools are ideal for cooling off after a long and enjoyable hike through the Tamadaba pine forest.
